Terms and Conditions
Standard Hire Period
- Our standard hire timeframe is 8 days, unless otherwise arranged. Additional hire may be extended at an additional hire fee of $50 p/week, unless otherwise agreed upon with our sales team upon booking
- Unless stated at the time of booking, an automated text will be sent out prior to the collection date. Only once a response is received do we lock in collection, to avoid collecting the skip earlier than intended.
Damage
- Any damage noted upon collection of the bin may incur additional charges, based on the extent of damage and repair costs. If you require a specific bin placement, please advise at the time of booking. Otherwise, our drivers will position the bin in the most suitable location. Please note that the bin must be accessible for collection. For example, bins placed on grass may not be collected during or after heavy rain due to the risk of lawn or surface damage.
Wait Times/Futile Service Fee
- If our driver attends your site and the bin is not ready for collection or service, an allowable waiting period of 15 minutes applies. After this, a fee of $250 per hour plus GST will be charged. If we are unable to collect a bin due to circumstances outside our control (such as site access issues, change of mind, or no prior notice of delay), and our office has not been notified with at least 2 hours’ notice, a futile service fee of $250 per hour plus GST (depot to depot) will apply. Please contact our office on 1800 180 180 to avoid additional charges if your site conditions or requirements have changed.
Safety
- Bins must not be filled above the rim. While we do not charge excess weight fees, bins must still be filled in line with RMS standards to ensure safe transport. Our drivers may refuse to collect bins deemed unsafe or overloaded. If this occurs, collection may be rescheduled and a futile service fee may apply. For changeovers, please contact our office on 1800 180 180 before the bin becomes full so we can schedule accordingly.
- Dense materials such as concrete, bricks, and soil are limited to skips 4m³ or smaller due to weight restrictions. Small amounts may be accepted in larger skips but must be limited to ensure the bin can be lifted upon collection.
Asbestos Bins
- Specific asbestos bins are available and charged on a per tonne basis, including NSW EPA consignment tracking. All asbestos must be wrapped in accordance with NSW Safe Work Procedures prior to placement in the bin.
Prohibited Items
- The following items are not permitted in our skips: asbestos (except in designated asbestos bins), fibre cement (fibro), putrescible waste including food waste, burnt material, liquid chemical waste, paints, tyres, batteries, mattresses, gas bottles, rubber materials, and fire extinguishers. If these items are found in a bin, additional charges will apply based on disposal requirements. Soil requires classification and approval prior to placement in bins.
Booking Procedure
- All bookings must be made via our office on 1800 180 180 or via [email protected] during office hours. We do not guarantee specific delivery or collection times, though requests will be accommodated where possible. For collections, we endeavour to provide next-day service. If strict removal dates are required, please advise our staff when booking, as workloads may impact availability.
Hours of Operation
- Our office hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm Saturday 7am – 1pm
Payment
- Central Waste offers account options to approved applicants. All other bookings are required to make payment prior to the bin being allocated for the delivery.
Permits
- For skips placed on roads or nature strips within the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Council areas, a council permit is required at an additional cost. This will be outlined by our team during the booking process.
